Faith and Fight

“They’re saying my whole draft stock is banking on UNC Game.” Isaiah Land and his brothers on the 2022 Florida A&M (FAMU) Rattlers football squad spent all spring and summer camp preparing for this moment. This was a "get money game," and the Rattlers were ready to strike. The Nationally televised Week 0 HBCU celebration game showdown against the Tar Heels was going to be FAMU’s opportunity to prove they belonged on the world’s stage. Hours before the team set out to travel to Chapel Hill, that opportunity was suddenly in serious jeopardy.

26 players, including defensive player of the year Isaiah Land and a handful of All-Americans, were revealed to be ineligible to play and the NCAA suspended their travel to North Carolina. The narrative being circulated in the media was that this ineligibility was due to academic delinquency, but the FAMU football players tell a different story entirely.

Faith & Fight: FAMU Athletes Advocate for Change is a short documentary that lends a platform to the players on the Rattlers football team directly to speak on issues at their university they believe are impacting their student athlete experience. This is the story of FAMU football’s faith in their ability to speak out for what is right, and their fight for the respect and support they deserve as elite student athletes at the #1 public HBCU in America.

The film was produced by LeBron James & Mav Carter’s SpringHill for Uninterrupted.
